Levels of Care
ACHIEVE promotes growth through a three-phase or “Level” treatment approach that ensures clients master each successive level before embarking on the next one. This promotes intrapersonal and interpersonal growth by motivating them to continually raise the bar and embrace more accountability for themselves and their peers. It is a strategic tool in aiding them to become productive, efficient, honest and virtuous members of society.
This stage consists of two to four weeks of intensive treatment to assess and address issues associated with substance abuse. Our clinical team creates a specific, individualized treatment plan based on the client’s evaluation and alcohol or drug abuse history. Treatment consists of 25 hours of group therapy and 1 hour of individual counseling each week. This program is particularly well-suited to those who have suffered from one or more relapses.
The Intensive Outpatient Program is designed as a step-down level of care for clients to continue their process of integrating back into society, and the program replicates independent living while still having support and structure. Clients meet with our case manager and program director for life skills training, which includes resume building, mock interviews, routine management, medication management and budget management. We will help clients to prioritize their goals, find employment and take care of basic life functions. This program runs three to five days a week for eight weeks, and clients will schedule an appointment to meet with their private therapist once a week. The Intensive Outpatient Program provides the tools necessary to combat complacency in recovery, which often leads to relapse. Clients have the choice to select which classes they’d like attend as long as they are appropriate.
At this stage, clients are allowed more independence, while still being monitored to ensure their progress. The Outpatient Program runs for longer than four weeks and each patient is provided three hours of group therapy and one hour of individual therapy per week. The OP program is typically used if the client is in halfway or living at home after discharge. Some clients choose to stay in ACHIEVE’s Outpatient Program, which is optional. Typically, clients enter the program three months after discharge. ACHIEVE’s life skills staff monitors job placement, budgeting, goal accomplishment, and provides ongoing support in all areas of the patient’s daily life. Attendance at daily 12-Step meetings is required.
